Album First Listens: Kid Koala - Music To Draw To: Satellite (2017)

beautifully atmospheric with really poignant moments that envelop you in a synthetic sound... vocal performances by emiliana torrini underscore the otherwise ambient electronic landscape and become something more in the vein of electro-pop, also serving as a sort of narration and providing more context and structure to the world that this album creates.

certain swelling, almost orchestral movements seem to ebb and flow in the waves of sound. at some moments the music is calming and soothing, only to be followed by crashing loud and grandiose electronic sequences. Like in [Darkest Day], where everything builds up to the 6 minute mark. (go listen to it, its an experience)

this definitely would stimulate some creativity for sure

fave tracks: the hubble constant, perihelion, collapser, novachord
