Birdman (2014): On Fading Glory

"Without me, all that's left is you."

Just top-down floored by what I just saw, what a movie

Birdman wrestles with the concepts of legacy and image through the eyes of a man diminishing.

We travel again and again through the dimly lit and narrow winding hallways to visit the grand stage of the theatre, where lines are repeated over and over again til they become truer and truer until grand realization hits and rings in your ear like a gunshot.

Are we not always acting? Putting on a performance for someone else? Who are we really? Are we defined by our actions and by the last great thing we did, or are we capable of something greater?
